<br /> <br /> STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />TO: Mayor Fischer and Members of City Council <br /> <br />FROM: Ben Harrington, Community Development Director <br /> <br />DATE: November 13, 2024 <br /> RE: Updated Building Official/Inspection Services Agreement with Inspectron, Inc. <br /> <br /> <br />ACTION TO BE CONSIDERED: <br />Approve updated professional services agreement with Inspectron, Inc. for building official <br />services. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The city began using Inspectron in 2019 for as-needed Building Official and inspection services. <br />Previously the City of Shoreview assisted when the Building Official was gone for more than a <br />few days, but their own work levels increased so they were no longer able to help us. Inspectron <br />was a recommended option. Inspectron has been in business since 1996 and is an independent <br />contractor that provides full building and zoning department administration services. Little <br />Canada has used them several times in the last five years when the Building Official has been out <br />for longer periods of times and we have had very good service from them. <br /> <br />The current agreement with Inspectron was approved in 2019. We are now also in need of plan <br />review services, so city staff has worked with Inspectron to update the agreement to include this <br />additional service. The hourly rate increased by $10.00 as a compromise for a lower plan review <br />rate. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends approving the updated professional services agreement with Inspectron, Inc. <br /> <br /> <br />
