MINUTES <br />City Council <br />August 10, 1983 <br />Buse Mrs. Nardini introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />Development <br />(Cont.) RESOLUTION NO. 83-7-334 - CALLING A HEARING <br />FOR A DESOTO ROAD IMPROVEMENT FROM ALLEN TO <br />LOT 19 AND A SEWER IMPROVEMENT ON THE DED- <br />ICATED DESOTO ST. FROM ALLEN AVE. TO COUNTY <br />ROAD D,.ON SEPTEMBER 28~ 1983. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Forsberg. <br />Ayes (4) Hanson, Forsberg, Scalze and Nardini <br />Nayes (1) Fahey <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 9, Page 355. <br />Temporary Mr. John Sheehan, Unique Kitchen Design, appeared before the Council <br />Siqns representing the businessmen in Little Canada who are opposed to <br />the new ordinance pertaining to portable signs. He presented the <br />Council with a petition signed by 63 Little Canada businessmen <br />stating that they were not notified by the Council as to their <br />feelings toward an ordinance such as was passed and feel this <br />ordinance will hurt their businesses. <br />Mr. Bill Quirin, North Suburban Chamber of Commerce, appeared before <br />the Council in regard to the Sign Ordinance. He presented the Council <br />with a letter stating that the recent sign ordinance has caused legiti- <br />mate concern and hardship to a number of Little Canada businesses with <br />a list of three recommendations. <br />Mr. Hanson introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLULTION NO. 83-7-335 - ACCEPTING <br />RECEIPT OF THE LETTER FROM THE NORTH <br />SUBURBAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Nardini. <br />Ayes (S) Hanson, Forsberg, Scalze, Nardini and Fahey. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 9, Page 356. <br />Mr. Forsberg introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 83-7-336 - CALLING A <br />MORATORIUM ON THE ENFORCEMENT OF THE <br />TEMPORARY SIGN ORDINANCE UNTIL DEC. <br />31~ 1983 AND ADVISING PERSONNEL TO <br />TEMPORARILY DISCONTINUE ENFORCEMENT <br />UNTIL THAT DATE. <br />Page 5 <br />
