MINUTES <br />City Council. <br />Oct. 26, 1983 <br />Imp. 83-22 Mr. Hanna aslced the location of the watermain. The Pngineer repl.i.ed <br />(Cont.) that the main wi11 go i.n the same general location as the sewer 1ine, <br />l~anna asked if dri.ve~vays ~oill. be di.sturbed. The ~ngineer replied that <br />where possible~ dri.veways wi11 not be disturbed. <br />The C1erk askecl why the watermazn could not go in on the back of the <br />property. The Engineer replied that then the houses would have long <br />connections and there woul.d be hydrants in the back that could not <br />be reached. <br />Mrs. Olson sent a letter to the City statin~ that she was in favor <br />of the project. Mr. Gustafson stated that he, too, ~vas in favor. <br />Mrs. Piardini commented that the City has one letter opposing the <br />project. <br />Mra Flaherty asiced how the assessnrent would be determined for the <br />corner lot. The F.ngineer replied that the corner lot would pay <br />an assessment based on its width. The cost of the projecC is <br />averaged and everyone picks up those portions that cannot Ue assessecl. <br />Mr. Tahey pointed out that the Plaherty lot is 114 feet wide aod <br />that is what Mr. Plaherty caouLd be assessed for. Fahey stated that <br />the lots would be assessed for their east and west coidths. <br />Mrs. Nardini introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLiJTION N0. 83-10-500 - CLOSING TH~ <br />PUBLIC FIEARING ON PROPOSGD IMPROVPMENT <br />N0. 83-22 <br />The foregoing resoluti.on was duly seconded by Mr. P'orsberg. <br />Ayes (5) Nardi.ni, Porsberg, Scalze, Pahey, Hanson. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resoluti.on declar.ed adopted. <br />This resolution appear.s i.n Resoluti.on Ilook No. 9, Page 545. <br />Mr. L'laherty sCated that his we11 was satisfactory and right nocv he <br />is against the improvement. <br />The City Clerlc commented that the City is looking at a 10 year bond <br />issue at 10% i.nter.est. Or existi.np, funds coul.d be usecl. <br />Mr. Forsberg pointed out that only t~vo property o~aners are against <br />the project. <br />The Bngineer reported thaC if ordered, the project will go in in the <br />Spring. <br />Page -4- <br />
