Mor.elan <br />Piel.ds pointed out that he has not given any consideration Co l.eagues from <br />(Cont.) outside the City. <br />PSrs. Scalze sCated that i.n the past there wasproperty on Centervil.le <br />Road that caas suggested f.or ball f.i.elds• <br />PYr. Porsberg pointed out that 20 f.ields could be Lilled and asked <br />how many were enough. I'orsber.g asked how much money the CiCy could <br />i.nvest in fi.elds that would sit most of the time. <br />Mr. Fahey su~gested that the Ci.ty could buy some property on a <br />contract -for-deed. Fahey f:el.t that the Ci.ty should purchase <br />property in an area that it could turn around,sell the property <br />in the Luture and malce a profit. <br />44r. Flanson suggest:ed that the Parks Commission pursue the property <br />they feel is desireabLe and make a recommendztion Co the Council. <br />Mr. Ilanson stated that the longer the money sits in the Park I'und <br />unused, the more peopl.e coill be concerned that the City is not putting <br />these funds to use. <br />Mr. Porsber~ felt that the City should hold a publi.c hearing on <br />any property the City proposes to purchase and use for ball f.ields. <br />Mr. Fahey stated that he ctid not agree. P'ahey stated that if the <br />property wer.e industrial, he ~vouLd not be pursuaded by a couple of <br />resi.dents of the area that this would not be a p,ood use f:or Che <br />property.
