MTNUTIS <br />City Counci.l. <br />March 27, 7.985 <br />Peterson Mr. Peterson stated Chat he did not lcnocu thaC these thi.ngs were requi.red. <br />Mai.ntenance Peterson then expl.ai.ned their proposal. to the Council. Peterson stated <br />(Cont.) that by storin~; material.s inside the proposed bui.ldi.ng, they wi.ll. gain <br />more Parki.n~; in the ~ainter so that vehicles do noC have to be parlced so <br />close r.o the building. Also, they wi.11 be putti.ng slats i.n the fence <br />[or screeni.np; of storage areas and wi.11 be removing the mobile home. <br />Mr. Fahey suggested that the proposai be tabled for two weeks so that <br />Mr. Peterson can submi.t a completed si.te plan and also so PeCerson can <br />have an opportuni.ey to revi.eca the Planner's r.eport. <br />Mrs. Nardiai asked if. as part of. such upp,rading plans such as Peterson <br />Mai.ntenance's, if, ehe City should be requiri.n,n, blaclctopping of parlci.ng <br />areas. Nardi.n~.i stated that she was :in Che paric recently and there i.s <br />a~;reat deal of mud, This is causi.ng peopl.e L-o park on the grass areas. <br />Mr. Peterson stated that he did not icnow if. the soil was stable enough <br />on hi.s property to support blaclctop over any long peri.od of ti.me, <br />24rs. Nardi.ni. poi.nted out that Che City is going along wiCh setback <br />encr.oachments and aslced i..f it was too much to require some blactctoppinge <br />Dlar.di.ni suggested that the Counci.l thinlc aUout thi.s. <br />Mr. Ryan stated that there are areas t.hat coi.ll supPore blacktop i.n the <br />paric, but noT. on the Peterson property. Nardini. aslced :if: a si.te i.s not <br />stable enough f.or blaclctop, how it can be stable enough to support a <br />bui.ldi.ng. Nardi.ni_ commented that right now Y.he parlc is a mess, <br />A4r. Pahey stated that the ordinance requires parking areas to be surfaced. <br />Mr. Gri.ttman stated that the or.di.nance does not speci.£y that bl.aclctop <br />has to be used, but i.t does state that parlcing spaces must be seriped, <br />Mr.. rahey sug,gested that perhaps employee parking shouLd Ue blaclctopped. <br />Mr.. Peter.son st:ated that there is an asphalt fill materi.al that mi.ght <br />help solve the probl.em. Peterson stated that he would get i.nformation <br />on this and bring it in with l~i.s completed s:i.te p1an. <br />Art Ryan Mr. Ryan submi.tted plans for. a bu~i.ldi.ng on a piece of property in Ryan <br />13ui1di.n~; Industri.al Park. Mr. Ryan explained the plan to the Council. <br />Revi.ew <br />P1r. Fahey poi.nted out thar. the Planner i.s recommendin~ thaC the proposal <br />Agenda not be approved. Mr. Ryan stated that he has not seen the Planner's <br />Item No. 11 report. <br />Mr. Ryan al.so explai.ned that he has made some changes in the plan since <br />Che Pl.anner has reviewecl i.t. Ntr. Tahey stated that the City will need <br />an updated plan and suggested that Mz. Ryan meet with the Planner. <br />Page -10- <br />
