MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />DECEMBER 18, 2024 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the City Council of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was convened on the 18' day of December 2024 in the Council Chambers of the City <br />Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Tom Fischer called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the City <br />Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Fischer, Council Members Kwapick, Gutierrez and D. Miller. <br />Absent: Council Member T. Miller. <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Chris Heineman, Community Relations Manager Lauran <br />Linehan, Community Development Director Ben Harrington, Parks and Recreation Director Steve <br />Anderson, Public Works Director Bill Dircks, City Engineer Eric Seaburg, City Clerk/HR Manager <br />Heidi Heller, Fire Chief Don Smiley, and Assistant Fire Chief Tom Boss. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Kwapick introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO. 2024-12-141— APPROVING THE MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER <br />4, 2024 WORKSHOP AND THE DECEMBER 4, 2024 REGULAR MEETINGS AS <br />SUBMITTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by D. Miller. <br />Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS <br />The Community Relations Manager announced details of the snowplow naming contest, which runs <br />through December 27th. She thanked everyone who donated to One Warm Coat and Toys and Tots. <br />The Parks and Recreation Director provided a recap of the recent Cookies with Santa event held this <br />past weekend. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />None. <br />PRESENTATIONS <br />DONATION FROM LITTLE CANADA FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />The Fire Chief provided information on how the charitable gambling funds were used during 2024. <br />The Assistant Fire Chief stated that charitable gambling is a good source of income for the department, <br />acknowledging the local bars that help to make this program a success. <br />The Fire Chief provided a history of the charitable gambling program noting the intention of the <br />program to lessen the tax burden on the residents of the city. He estimated that over $2,000,000 has <br />
