MiNU•rrs <br />City Counc~il <br />July 10, 1985 <br />I3uS.lciing <br />Code (Conte) <br />Ci.vil <br />Defense <br />Ordinance <br />Agenda <br />Addition <br />'I.'he foregoing r.esolution was duly seconded by Mr. Collova. <br />Ayes (5) Pahey, Collova, Nardini, Blesener, Scalze. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Resoluti.on declared adopted. <br />'Chis resoLution appears i.n Resolution Book No. 12, Page 349. <br />'I'he Ci.ty Attorney submi.tted to the Council for appr.oval a Civil <br />Uefense ordinance. The Attorney reported that this was a housekeeping <br />matter. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following ordinance and moved its adoption: <br />ORDINANCE N0. 259 - AN ORDINANCE ADDING <br />CHAPT~R 210 TO Tl~l~ MUNTCTPAL COD~ OP THG <br />CITY OP LITTLE CANADA, GS'CAI3LISHING A <br />CIVIL DEFT'NSF. AGENCY <br />The foregoinp, ordinance ~vas duly seconded by Mrs. Narclini. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Nardini, Scalze, L'ahey, Collova. <br />Nayes (0). <br />Ordi.nance declared adopted. <br />Mr. Blesener notect that Che City needs a Givil Defense Ordinance <br />and Plan in order to apply for funding. <br />rair Labor Mr. Pahey reported Chat he has reviewed the P'air Labor Standards Law <br />Standards recently enacted and it is his opinion that the City cannot a11ow <br /> Dan Dralce to continue his paid duties with the Kecreation Department. <br />Ae~enda Under the Law the City would be required to pay Mr. Dralce time and <br />Addition one-half for anything over 40 hours. Mr. Pahey aslced where the <br /> City woul d stanct with Mr.. Drake's par.ticipati.on on the Park Commission. <br />Mr. Sweeney did not £eel there was a problem with Park Commission <br />participation. Sweeney reported that the problem li.es with Cities <br />thaC have volunteer Lire departments. <br />Mr. Fahey repor.ted that the City's f.ire department is a private <br />corporation and these volunteers are not City employees. The <br />Attorney felt that there may sti11 be a problem. <br />Mrs. ScaLze felt that the Fire Chi.ef. shoul.d be made aware o£ this. <br />Mr. Fahey introcluce<l the folloo-~in~ resolution and moved its adoption: <br />Page -15- <br />
