yzNU~rr~s <br />City Counci.l <br />Sept< 25, 1985 <br />Steneroden Mr. Townsley stated that he felt the proposal would be more efficient <br />Proposal with access from County Road C. <br />(Cont.) <br />Mr, Blesener stated that by goi.ng out to Sylvan, the City caould have to <br />downzone property and this might be more expensi.ve than going out to <br />Rice Street. Mr. Maddox stated that they have no oUjec~ion with access <br />from Kice Street, <br />Mrs. Scalze pointed out that thi.s would involve an upzoning to A-3< <br />Mr. Pahey commented that .i.t is not realisCic to have residential lot <br />on Rice Street. ScaLze stated that she did not feel that Lot 11 should <br />extend behind Lot 15 of Iona Lane. <br />Fahey suggested that perhaps the developers should go baclc to the <br />drawing board and work out access to Rice Street. Fahey also su~gested, <br />thaC the developers give the people owning Lot l.i more f.lexibili.ty <br />i.f only through additional setbacks or something of this nature, <br />Mr. Mactdox stated that he caould lilce some direction from the Council <br />that this development might happene <br />Scalze pointed otrt that iL access was Co Rice StreeC, the developers <br />would have a corner 1ot and the setbaclcs would have to be worked out, <br />Fahey suggested a PUD for tkie property. <br />Mr. Pasciana felt that the City could only condemrt property if it was <br />Lor a pubLic use. 41r. Pahey pointed out that the property wouLd be used <br />for a road and this woul.d be a public useo <br />Nardini aslced if the condemnation process would cost the Ci.ty anything. <br />Mr. Sweeney repl.i.ed that this depended on what arrangements the City madee <br />Nardini commented that she wanted to make sure that the developers paid <br />a11 condemnation costs. <br />Fahey su~gested that the City Attorney advi.se Dr. Krinke that the City is <br />interested in assisting in the development of this area and see if <br />something can be worlced out. <br />I3lesener stated that if the City is going to condemn property, he ~vould <br />rather see access from Rice Street. I~lesener felt that the other al.terna- <br />tive would cost the City more money in the Long run. <br />Collova pointed out that wi.th access to Rice Street, the City coould have <br />residential and commer.cial properties sharing a street.
