Che storm sewer project wouLd <br />Item No< 20 be $1G,000. <br />Mr. Kath felt that it made sense to put Che pipe in now bef.ore Che <br />house is i.n. However, Kath stated that the pipe should be put :in <br />service only after the drai.nage problem on the south is taken care <br />ot. <br />Mr< GLanzer felt that the ne~o pipe caould take water before it got to <br />the south. Glanzer stated that the pi.pe on the south was plugged and <br />this has been cleaned out. Mr, Kath suggested that the pipe in the <br />southern area was too small. <br />Mr. Car.ley stated that the pipe through the Roach Addition was considere<! <br />for the next couple of yearse 'fhe Engineer stated that it was cheaper <br />to i.nstall iti now before a house is built. <br />Mr. ~ahey asked who will pay for the pi.pe< The Fn~ineer thought that <br />the City would. <br />Pahey stated that he understood that when the Ci.ty was set up as a tax <br />district, the Ci.ty then had the option of puttinp, projects like this <br />on on General Taxation. However, thi> was a choice the Ci.ty had and <br />not something i.t had to do> <br />The Eng~ineer pointed out that the pipe ~aould drain a larger area. <br />'Phe Sngineer also pointed oue that the City has never assessed a storm <br />sewer project in its history~ except for Sleepy Holloca. <br />Page -21- <br />
