Pahey <br />asked i.f this was done zf.' the City could sti7.1 use StaCe-Ai.d funds <br />Lor the bike path and sidewallc< Wel.tzi.n stated that they could. <br />Fahey suggested thaC the north side of. the str.eet have a no part<i.ng <br />ban and that shoulder could be i.nFormally used f.or caa llci.ng and bi.lcing. <br />Nar.dini sta[:ed that she sees a problem more on the south side of the <br />street and suggested that the Ci.ty not i.nstall the si.decval.k, but still <br />put in the bi.lce patki on the north si.de of the street> Mr.. Tessi.er <br />pointed out that there ar.e two homes on the north side oE the stireet that <br />are very cl.ose to the. bl.aclctop ri.ghC now. <br />Mrs. Pr.eeman stated that she felt the bilce path beLonoed on CenCer.vi,ll.e <br />Road and to Spooner F'artc. Nardini commented that there are people <br />ricting bi.lces on Littl.e Canada Road< P4rs. Scalze stated Chat people <br />living on the west side of the £reeway come across the freeway to <br />play ball. at St, John's. <br />Mr. Kimmens aslced where snow would go in the wi.nter< I~Sr, Van F3erkom <br />replied thaC the snoco would be stored on the bilce path. <br />Mrs< Scalze stated that i.[ the bike path and sidewaltc are scraped, the <br />blacktop ~oill. be essenCi.al.ly where it is noco. Van l.lerlcom stated that <br />there are some ar.eas in which the bl.acictop wi11 be 8 Leet beyoncl where <br />it i.s now, but i.t wi.11 sti11 Ue wi.thin the right-of-way. <br />~Pahey f.e1t that due to t.he strong neig,hborhood opposition the bi.ke path <br />and sideoralk shoul<1 be scraped. Pahey pointed out that they could always <br />be i.nstalled later on if the City felt it necessary. <br />Pahey f.e1t that the roadcoork will be a benefiC to Che City. Scalze <br />agreed. <br />One member of the audience asked why t.he bilw path could not foll.ow the <br />evater cvorks ri.ght-o£-way. Scalze stated that there :i.s a path proposed <br />for the nor.th side of the ditch already. <br />Fahey stated that if the Counci.l. was to consider the b:ike path or sidewallc <br />in the future it would be elone at public hear.ings. <br />Scalr,e stated that she £elt people could use ttie exisCing shoulder. <br />Yage -9- <br />
