Fahey pointed out that the Planning Commission recomr~ended approval
of the permit. The Building Inspector is also recommending aprroval
subject to the exterior of the garage matching the existing home and
subject to the garage meeting setback requirements.
The City Clerk reported that he remembered Thul coming before the
City Board in 1971 for a permit for his home occupation.
Thul reported that his operation is the same as it was in 1971 except
for the fact that his son is now working vaith him.
Scalze felt that Thul's occupation was grandfathered in and that it
was not up to the present Council to deny Thul's home occupation when
it was approved by a previous Council.
Blesener pointed out that the business does fall within the hom~
occupation code. Scalze pointed out that the business is now larger
than it was.
Page -2-
