4~tI~lUTES <br />City Council <br />Nov. 26, 1985 <br />Metai <br />(iuildings <br />(Cont.) <br />Council decided to discuss the prooosed ordinance point by point to <br />determine what should or should not be included in the ordinance. <br />It was the concensus of the Council that Item ~1 should remain in <br />the ordinance. <br />Fahey and [~lesener felt that Item #2 should be omitted. <br />Scalze pointetl out that under Item #'L someone could build a wood frame <br />building, but put metal siding on it. The bui1ding ti~rould look like <br />a pol e bui 1 ciing. <br />Plardini, Scalze and 3lesener indicated that Item #2 should be left in <br />the ordinancee <br />The concensus of the Council ~r~as to eliminate Ttem #3 from the ordinance. <br />Counci7 d9scussecl Item #~. E~ill Quirin pointed out that under #4 <br />a$200,000 house ~+ould not be compatible in a neirhborhoad of $50,000 <br />houses. <br />Nardini fe1t that this item pertained more to the business district. <br />It was the concensus of the Council that Item ;k4 be eliminated. <br />Mr. Quirin pointed out that under Item #5 if someone had a brick house, <br />they s~ould be required to build a brick c~arage. P1r. Quirin felt that <br />this aaas too restrictive, and a person shou1d be a1lowed to put up a <br />frar~e garage if they so desire. <br />It was the concensus of the Council that Item #5 be eliminated. <br />Council was in agreernent that Item #6 should remain in the ordinance. <br />f~1r< f3lesener suggested the rewording of Item #1 as fo1lows: <br />1. No pole type bi1tling, or engineered stee1 buildings <br />with metal exteriors ~dhich are over 1?_D square feet <br />in floor area, shall be allo~,~ed. <br />P~lr.
