F3lesener reported that the I>ublic S~lorks Superintendent has been <br />discussing the Ci~y's ti~~at.er rates with the St. Paul S•later D~partinent <br />Agenda ~4anager and it; appears that the City's rates have been too hinh. <br />Ac!dition 7he City has been paying 110%, of the rate and should have ber-,n pa,ying <br />100`,!~ of the rate. 110% oF the rate is c'narrecl to those customers ~~rho <br />do not provicle their otivn pressure. <br />The ',later ~e4~artmen1; r1anac~er will be recornniending to i;he ;t. f'aul !dlter <br />I3oard that the City's rate b^ reduced to 100%. <br />The City C1erk pointed out ti~at the C,i ty has had its oe-rn pressure <br />since 1979. Council suggested that perhaps the f,ity is eni:itled to <br />a rebate of the extra 10~ it has heen oa.yinc~ s~ince 1979. <br />Fahey suggest~d that tVie City first try to get th~ 1o~•~est rate possible <br />and then tnr.inatt:er of a r~bate r,an be addressed. <br />It ti~ias sugciested that the City ,Attorney b^ involved in the matter <br />and perhaps ~~~rite a letter to the !~later Roarc! renuesting the lotiaer rate. <br />The City Cler!< nointed out that there s•~ill b^ an a~reement coming in <br />lat~r in the taeek regarc~.ing the recfuced rate, and suqgested that the <br />Attorney re~iie~v t'ne agreement. <br />";rs.
