MINUTES <br />City Council <br />May 14, 1986 <br />Bingo Scalze felt the curbing should go back as far as possible to prevent <br />(Cont.) the spilling of traffic into Rainbow's parkina lot. <br />Nardini reported that Rainbow was at the Chamber of Commerce <br />meeting and they expressed concern about the effect on their <br />dumpster. <br />Mr. alesener asked if the City could limit the occupancy of the <br />bingo hall. <br />The Planner replied that they could and it would be enforceable <br />by the Building Inspector or Fire Marshall. <br />Mr. Short reported that they were willing to post a 450 maximum <br />occupancy and would live with that amount. <br />Mrs. Scalze pointed out that the charities have reported the <br />following officers of their Board of Directors and Hall Association <br />for this bingo operation: <br />Board of Directors - <br />Chairman Jan Sherman <br />Vice Chairman Ray Massman <br />Secretary Bob Finnerty <br />Treasurer Ed Amaro <br />Member Lois Blomberg <br />Officers - <br />President Ray Massman <br />Vice President Lois Blomberg <br />Secretary Phil Saari <br />Treasurer JoAnn Negner <br />Scalze further reported that she has requested financial information <br />on this venture and how the City's 20% of profits would be <br />determined. <br />Bob Finnerty, Minnesota Tip Board, presented the Council with <br />detail of the financial breakdown the charities estimate will <br />occur based on various attendance figures. This estimate included <br />revenues and expenses and was quite detailed. <br />Blesener pointed out that the double sessions proposed by the <br />charities would allow them to pay out more money in cash prises <br />and was a way of getting around the State law. <br />Council expressed concern about recent publicity that Indian bingo <br />is receiving. <br />Page -11- <br />
