MINUTES
City Council
May 14, 1986
Bingo
(Cont.)
Mr. Short pointed out that if the car parking spaces are full,
the building would also be full and buses could not be accepted.
Scalze questioned who would police this.
Mr. Short indicated that the Fire Marshall would have this right.
Fahey also pointed out that off-duty police officers will be hired
as security.
Nardini pointed out that buses would probably have reservations,
and cars would be turned away.
Mrs. Scalze pointed out that there is a solid sea of asphalt in
this area. Scalze asked why the property is not required to have
a five-foot green area around it. This was a requirement when
the Sinclair Station brought in a development proposal.
The Planner agreed that this should be required and pointed out that
his original report covered this.
Scalze felt that the City should be consistent in its treatment
of various developers.
Fahey agreed that if the ordinance requires this, the City should
not vary from it. Fahey pointed out that there are problems with
Rainbow Foods' access to its dumpster.
Mr. Short reported that Rainbow Foods utilizes his property to
access its dumpster and the curbed green area would require them
to re-arrange their dumpster location.
Scalze also pointed out that the City should prevent cross traffic
from the Rainbow Food property and this property.
Fahey agreed that the area should not be left wide open and some
controls should be in place. Fahey felt that the curbed green
area was essential at this point and a fence may be required later
if needed. However, Fahey did not want to adversely impact on
Rainbow Foods and felt the dumpster issue should be looked at.
Blesener felt that the curbed green area should run the depth
of the proposed parking lot and perhaps beyond.
Mr. Short stated that he was
and felt that if Rainbow had
was the way it would be.
agreeable to the curbed green area
to re-arrange their dumpster that
Mr. Fahey felt Mr. Short, the Planner, and Rainbow Foods should
address this issue.
Page -10-
