r~tr!uTEs <br />City Council <br />June 25, 19~6 <br />Gardner Gardner explained that he is nroposing to access the bac'c property <br />[3ros. ~,aith a private road which arould be maintained hy an association <br />Construction of owners of the indivitlual warehouses. <br />(Cont.) <br />Scalze questioned 4ahether a lot of separate buildings would be <br />allowed under the Codee <br />The Ptanner stated that retail-type businesses adould not be a good <br />idea 9n these warehouses. <br />Fahey asked if multipl~-principle structures avould be a1laNecl. <br />Scalze felt that the various buildings would be allowed if they <br />frontecl on a public street, however, the proposal is for a private <br />roaci. <br />~ahey stated that he yvas not opposed to the front bui7ding, but <br />questioned the concept proposed for the baci< of the propert,y. <br />Mardini asked how the buildings could be sprin!:lered when there <br />is not City a~ater availab1e to the site. <br />Gardner asked if the City might consider using tax increment bonds <br />to br~ng se~rier and viater to the site. <br />Fahey asked if Gardner v~ould object to having a temporary well, and <br />when water is available to the property immecfiately hooking up to <br />it. <br />Gardner stated that he was agreeable to this and stateci that he <br />vianted Ci ty vaater. <br />Fahey suggested that the f;ity obtain a recommendation from the Fire <br />P1arshall on a temporary vae11 situation. <br />Scalze felt that the City saoutd have to require a permanent street <br />for access to t'ne back property. <br />Gardner pointed out that they have laid out 66 feet of right-of-~~~ay <br />for the street. Gardner stated that they wou1d 1ike to deve1op <br />the property and ask~d if the City evould make avater ancJ seever <br />available to the site, <br />Fahey suggested that a public hearing s~~ould have to be called on <br />this issue. <br />Scalze did not feel that this was the type of thing that the Cit,y <br />wanted to use tax increment financing for. <br />Fahey felt that if the proposal was larger in scale, this might <br />be a possibility.
