(3rant reported that she has 74 feet of
propert,y fronting on Sylvan, and that she was opposed to tha
improvement <fue to the assessments.
Roc'~cy ~laite, 2551 Lakeshore, property owner on Sylvan, stated
that he was in favor of the improvement and pointed out that
the cost of putting the street in will never be cheaper.
P•1r, Van Guilder, 2560 Spruce Street, stated that he had 75 feet
of frontage on Sylvan and that he was opposed to the improvement.
f4r. alesener po7nted out that it appears that a 1ittle 1ess than
50~'of t'ne property osvners are in favor of the improvement.
Steve LaCasse, 30?.7 Lalce Street, stated that he owned 175 feet of
frontage an Sylvan and that he was in favor of the improvement.
LaCasse reported that he is paying taxes on this property and is
not able to utilize it. LaCasse agreed that the price ~rrill never
be less to put the street in.
P4r. Fahey asked if it were possible to consider this project in
conjunction with the other projects that the City has ordered.
The Cngineer replied that it could be included. However, contracters
are very bus.y this year and not all the projects will get done in
1986.
f4r. Fahey suggested that since the decision was a close one, the
matter should be tabled to give other neighbors a chance to
respond. Fahey suggesteci that during that time the Engineer could
get bids on the improvement in conjunction with other City
improvements to see if the cost can be lowered.
[~rant asked if she would be assessed if she did not have enough
property to divide.
Scalze pointed oiat that if lake Street 4~ere vacated, Qrant would
get half of the stree't and would be assessed for that frontage as
v~et 1 .
Eirant stated that she and Mr. and Pirso McTeague were opposed to
the improvement.
fran:< Gracz.yk, 13 Demont, stated that he was in favor of the
improvement and asked if the added footage from Lake Street would
bring the costs do~~n.
Page -4-
