DFVELOPP7FNT RGVEPlUE f30MDS TO FIIdA~1CE TF{c <br />PROJECT (YORKTO~I IPJDUSTRIFlL PFlRK/t<IELLIPIGTOM <br />ASSOCIA7[S III PROJEC7) <br />The foregoing resolution ~-aas du1y seconded b,y Mr. Collova. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Co1lova, Fahey, Plardini, t3lesener. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Rasolution (3ook hlo< 15, Pages 411 thru 415. <br />Mr. Lee informed the City that the City af Fridle.y in order to <br />attract a compan,y to their city is offering that company a building <br />with the guarantee that they wi11 place a cap on taxes for the <br />next five years of £30¢ per square foot. Lee asked if the City <br />had any I<nowledc~e of this. Lee also informFd the City that the <br />company is interested in locating in Little Canada, but is concerned <br />about taxes. <br />F11 E3rixius from the City Planner's office, suggested that his <br />firm contact Fridley to determine e~hat they are doing. <br />Fahey so clirected the Planner. <br />1987 The P+layor pointed out that the Sheriff's Department has submitted <br />Sheriff's their 1987 conLract for Cit.y approval. The budget contains a 25 J6% <br />Contract increase over last year's contract. <br />Agenda Commander Jerry Qergeron of the Sheriff's Department reported that <br />Item No. 5 the majorit.y of th2 increase is due to the praposed addition of <br /> four deputies to the force. This additional staff will ensure that <br /> Little Canada has a full-time deputy patroling the City during all <br /> shifts, f3ergeron oresented schedules of current personnel <br /> assignments and the proposed assignments should the additiona1 <br /> staff be added to the department. <br /> i~rs. Scalze expressecl concern that the City's percentage of calls <br /> is higher than that of other cities. <br /> f~1r. FSergeron cornmented that the majority of ca11s received from <br /> Li'ttle Canada are from one apartment complex in t'ne City. <br /> Blesener pointed out tiiat 21% of the increase in the contract is <br /> due to the added personnel and 4 1/2°~ of the increase was due to <br /> inflation. <br />Page -7- <br />
