r.IINUTES <br />City Council <br />August 13, 1986 <br />1987 ~ahey pointe<i out that last year there ti•~as no increase in the <br />Sheriff's Sheriff's bepartment contract and the year before that the increase <br />Contract was on1y a small percentage. <br />(Cont.) <br />Blesener pointed out that the City has had complaints about the <br />area of coverage by Che Sheriff's Department and the increase in <br />personnel will benefit the City. <br />Scalze pointed out that the City Council wi71 have to make cuts <br />in the City's budget to cover the increase in the Sheriff's <br />Contract. <br />t-1r. Fahey r~ported that the City has received letters from the <br />Pipeline Canabury Condominium Flssociation and the Ganabury Townhouse <br /> Association regarding the Williams Pipeline that runs througn <br />Agencia the Ci t,y. <br />Itein Plo. 7 <br /> Fahey also summarized the contents of the Ramsey County News <br /> dated Flucaust 5, 79£36 regarding !dilliams Pipeline. Fahey reported <br /> that the Ramsey Count,y E~oard has requesteci the National Trans- <br /> portation Safety Board to tal<e a position on testing plan <br /> submitted by 4Hltiams Pipetine officials. The ~oard has also <br /> agreed to secure a technical consultant to investigate the safety <br /> of the 4lilliam's Piplane system. <br /> Fahey suggested that the Council pass a resolution advising tne <br /> County of its concerns and requesting that inspection be conducted <br /> on the entire amount of pipeline within the City as promptly as <br /> possible. <br />rahey felt that the City tvill have to rely on the ~ounty and <br />the M1lational Transportation Safety Board in this inatter. <br />P~1s. Nardini reported that in acidition to the tlilliams Pipeline, <br />th~re is a ~orthern State,> PoU~er natural gas 1ine and an Amoco <br />gasoline line runnin,q through the City.
