MINUTES <br />City Counci7 <br />December 23, 1986 <br />Recreation Mrs.Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />Association <br />3.2 Beer RESO~UTION N0. 86-12-557 - APPROVING A 3.2 <br />And Wine QEER AND WINE LICENSE FOR TNE RECREATION <br />License ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL SOFT~ALL-ON-ICE TOURNAMENT <br />TO BE NELD ON JANUARY 17 AND 18, 1987 FlND <br />Agenda AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN THE LICENSE APPLICATION <br />Item No. 15 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Collova. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Collova, Nardini, Blesener, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 15, Page 675. <br />NBA Name Mrs. Scalze reported that page 17, 3rd paragraph of the December 10 n 1 S <br />For MN z3, 1986 Council minutes should be amended to read, "Mrs. Scalze a basketbal l <br />suggested that Timber Wolves would 6e the better name as Minnesota g pO1dPS <br />Team is the only state with a viable timber wolf population in the <br />contiguous 48 states.". <br />Agenda <br />Item No. 16 Scalze suggested that the Timberwolves would be the better name <br />as timberwolves are contiguous to Minnesota. <br />L~ CORRECTION <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RES.87-1-13 RESOLUTION N0. 86-12-558 - DECLARING THAT <br />THE CITY OF LITTLE CANADA'S CHOICE FOR THE <br />NAME OF A NBA BASKETBALL TEAM IN MIMNESOTA <br />WOULD BE THE MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Collova. <br />Ayes (4) Scalze, Collova, Nardini, Fahey. <br />Nays (1) Blesener. <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 15, Page 676. <br />Cable TV Mr. Don Tarnowski reported that at tonight's meeting he has been <br />Equipment using a new camera on loan from the Cable TV company. Tarnowski <br />felt that the quality of the picture seemed better. <br />~genda <br />Addition Council asked for viewers to call in and inform the Council about <br />the quality of the picture. <br />The Council received three phone calls. All three callers said <br />that the picture was good, but the sound was not, especially <br />when the Council was rustling papers. <br />Council discussed the sound, and Tarnowski recommended that this <br />matter be worked on after the Council determines that the design <br />Page -17- <br />
