MINUTES
City Council
Dec. 23, 1986
Imp. No. The Engineer explained that in a public hearing all possibilities are
87-1 (Cont.) considered and whatever is not needed can be eliminated. However,
should property owners or the Council wish to make additions to the
improvement, another public hearing would need to be held.
Fahey suggested that sanitary sewer proposed along Soo Lane and
the east-west line running between the McGough and Deeb properties
be eliminated.
The Engineer recommended that half the east-west line between the
McGough and Deeb properties be eliminated. The Engineer indicated
that he proposed sewer with the thought that some of the properties
in the area might be divided in the future.
Fahey suggested that should that happen, the property owners could
acquire easements to connect to sewer along the Water Works property.
Mr. Bob Zilge suggested that his property along Woodlyn Avenue could
access sewer through an easement across the R& S property. This
would eliminate a length of sev~er proposed on Woodlyn Avenue.
Jim Ryder, representing Fuel Economy, pointed out that properties on
the north have sewer.
Mrs. Maureen Gervais was concerned that sewer was proposed to cut
through her property. Gervais suggested that sewer be brought in
at another point further west on South Owasso Blvd.
The Engineer replied that the sewer line does not need to go exactly
where shown on the diagram, however, sewer could not be brought in
from further west on South Owasoo Blvd. as the sewer is quite high
in this area.
Gervais pointed out that her property has already been assessed for
sewer on South Owasso Blvd.
The Engineer replied that this has been taken into consideration and
about 200 feet of the Gervais property, has been eliminatedfrom the
proposed assessment.
Gervais pointed out that her property is for sale and felt that
the proposal of running a sewer line across the property could be
a detriment to a sale.
Scalze pointed out that a developer could bring sewer into the
Gervais property from South Owasso Blvd.
Deeb pointed out that if a developer brings sewer into the Gervais
property, property owners in the area could connect to this sewer
line.
Page -5-
