MINUTES <br />City Council <br />Jan. 5, 1987 <br />Official Johnson reported that two years ago the Press updated its mailing <br />Newspaper list to include all businesses in the City. The Press is also <br />(Cont.) audited twice each year by an outside firm to review routes <br />and ensure that all homes and businesses are being reached. <br />Mr. Fahey felt that the increase proposed was a modest one. <br />Scalze also pointed out that the bid received from the Lillie <br />Suburban Press was received over the telephone and not in written <br />form. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-1-4 - DESIGNATING THE <br />WHITE BEAR PRESS AS THE CITY'S OFFICIAL <br />NEWSPAPER FOR 1987 AT THEIR BID RATE DUE <br />TO TNE BETTER COVERAGE AFFORDED TO ALL THE <br />CITY BY THE WHITE BEAR PRESS <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Scalze, Collova, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 4. <br />Acting Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />Mayor <br />Appointment RESOLUTION N0. 87-1-5 - APPOINTING BEVERLY <br />SCALZE AS THE CITY S ACTING MAYOR FOR 1987 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Collova. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Collova, LaValle, Blesener, Scalze. <br />Nays (O). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 5. <br />Council Fahey suggested the following Council liaison appointments for 1987: <br />Liaison <br />Appointments Rick Collova Building and Zoning <br />Bev Scalze Parks and Recreation <br />Bill Blesener Utilities <br />Jim LaValle Administration <br />Mike Fahey Public Safety. <br />Mr. LaValle indicated that he had hoped to be appointed as the <br />City's Public Safety liaison.
