MINUTES
City Council
Jan. 14, 1987
Business Scalze asked if removal of the licensing fee would apply only to
Licenses electrical and plumbing contractors.
(Cont.)
The Attorney felt that any business that is State-licensed would
be a problem.
Council discussed the matter and felt that the City Clerk should
determine what other cities are doing in this regard and report
back to the Council.
Sophie/ Mr. Fahey reported that Mr. Peterson is having difficulty obtaining
Peterson a letter of credit so that he can file his plat. Peterson is
Plat requesting that the City allow the plat to be filed and once he
sells a few lots, he will have the capital to obtain the letter
Agenda of credit.
Addition
The City Attorney reproted that the ordinance requires that either
public improvements be constructed or there is a financial guarantee
that they will be constructed before a plat can be filed.
The City Clerk pointed out that most developers submit a bond
rather than a letter of credit.
The City Attorney did not think a bond would be any easier to
obtain than a letter of credit.
Fahey pointed out that since this is an ordinance requirement,
the Council could not waive it in Mr. Peterson's case.
Brady's The City Clerk reported that Brady's On Rice Street has been closed.
Nowever, Mr. Tulgren will be making application to reopen the business.
Agenda
Addition The Clerk suggested that part of the requirement for reissuing the
license is that Mr. Tulgren pay his water bill.
Fahey suggested that the City Clerk send Mr. Tulgren a letter to
this effect.
Adjourn Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
Agenda RESOLUTION N0. 87-1-24 - ADJOURNING
Item No. 15
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener.
Ayes (5) Fahey, Blesener, Scalze, Collova, LaValle.
Nays (0).
