MINUTES <br />City Council <br />Feb. 25, 1987 <br />Thunder Scalze asked the Council's feelings for how much property the City <br />Bay Add. should try to obtain for the ponding and walkway proposed in the <br />Pond And Thunder Bay II Addition. Scalze pointed out that the Council also <br />Walkway needs to determine whether or not it should obtain an easement <br />Easement or fee title to the property. <br />Agenda The City Clerk reported that Bill Sanders is recommendin~ that the <br />Addition City obtain fee title to the property. <br />The City Attorney pointed out that fee title will cost the City more <br />than an easement would. It was the City Attorney's recommendation <br />that the City obtain an easement for this property and only the <br />portion of property that is necessary for the pond and walkway. <br />The Attorney pointed out that the property is already encumbered <br />by an NSP easement. <br />Fahey agreed that it has been past City policy to only obtain <br />property that is necessary and not to take more property than what <br />is needed. <br />Blesener agreed and suggested that Mrs. Scalze work with the Attorney <br />in determining the portion of property that is needed. <br />The Attorney noted that it may be necessary to obtain this property <br />through condemnation proceedings. <br />Mr. Fahey introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION ~10. 87-2-87 - INSTRUCTING THE <br />CITY ATTORNEY, CITY ENGINEER AND BEV SCALZE <br />TO REVIEW THE CITY'S REQUEST FOR A PONDING <br />AND WALKWAY EASEMENT IN THE THU~IDER BAY II <br />ADDITION AND TAKE ONLY THE AREA ESSENTIAL <br />FOR CITY PURPOSES QY CONDEMNATION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seco~ded by Mr. LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, LaValle, Collova, Blesener, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 92. <br />Bikepath Scalze suggested that the City participate in County efforts to <br />Grant obtain a grant for installation of a bike path on Keller Parkway <br />Application along Lake Gervais. <br />Agenda Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />Addition <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-2-88 - INSTRUCTING THE <br />CITY CLERK TO PREPARE AND SUBMIT A COMMUNITY <br />BLOCK GRANT APPLICATION IN CONJUNCTION WITN <br />Page -17- <br />
