MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 8, 2025 <br />APPOINT 2025 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OFFICERS <br />The City Administrator stated that this is more of a formality as the Economic Development Authority <br />(EDA) is not activated very often in Little Canada. He provided background information on the EDA, <br />its authorities, and its membership. He stated that annually the officers are appointed for the EDA and <br />that is what is asked at this time, reviewing the proposed slate of officers. <br />Miller introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />OFFICERSRESOLUTIONNO. EDA-2025-1-1 —APPOINTING THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />AUTHORITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Kwapick. <br />Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />ADOPT 2025 ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY BUDGET <br />The City Administrator stated that the budget has been increased from zero to $30,000 for 2025. He <br />stated that this will allow those dollars to be expended without activating the EDA to approve those <br />expenditures, providing some examples. He stated that EDAs are allowed to levy dollars as well, <br />noting that Little Canada has not ever chosen to do so. <br />Kwapick introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2025-EDA-1-2 — APPROVING THE EDA BUDGET IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF,$30,000 FOR 2025 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Gutierrez. <br />Ayes (5). Nays (0).
