MINUTES <br />City Council <br />P9ay 27 , 1987 <br />Connco <br />Shoes (Cont <br />RESOLUTION P10. 87-5-222 - CLOSING THE <br />PUBLIC HEARING OM THE CONNCO SHOES <br />REQUEST FOR A SIGN HEIGNT VARIANCE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Scalze, LaValle, Collova, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 240. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-5-223 - FlPPROVING THE SIGN <br />HEIGHT VARIANCE AS REQUESTED BY CONNCO SHOES <br />BASED ON THE SECTION OF THE ORDINANCE ALLOWING <br />VARIANCES FOR UNI(~UE TOPOGRAPHY OF A LOT AND <br />BASED ON THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY <br />PLAMNER AS CONTAINED IN HIS APRIL 7, 1987 REPORT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, LaValle, Fahey, Collova. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book Mo. 17, Page 241. <br />Carlson Fahey opened the public hearing on the request of Ron Carlson for <br />Side Yard a 20 foot sideyard setback variance for Lot 10, Block 2, Southern <br />Setback Slopes Addition. Fahey pointed out that under Code the setback <br />Variance on this particular lot would be 30 feet, and Mr. Carlson is <br />requesting a 10 foot sideyard setback. <br />Agenda <br />Item ~lo. 7 The Planning Commission and the Planner have recommended approval <br />of the variance request. <br />Fahey pointed out that on April 3, 1986 the Planner recommended <br />that if a similar variance was granted for a previous owner of <br />the property, further subdivision of the property should not be <br />allowed. <br />P~r. Carlson stated that he did not plan to subdivide the property. <br />Carlson stated that he plans to place his house 125 feet from the <br />front of the lot and is requesting the variance on the east side <br />of the lot. Carlson stated that he felt Condit Street would <br />never be extended in this area, and pointed out that the Council <br />granted a previous variance for P9r. Dukowitz on the same property, <br />and also the house on Lot 6 has a 10 foot sideyard setback. <br />Page -3- <br />
