MINUTES City Council P1ay 27, 1937 Spooner Blesener stated that the City only has the right of first refusal Park for Spooner Park. Appraisal (Cont.) Fahey commented that if Spooner Park went on the market, the City would purchase it. Scalze asked if there was any point in hiring another appraiser to look at Spooner Park. The Attorney stated that he would not know who to hire. Fahey felt the matter should wait until the issue of Capital View was resolved. Scalze did not feel that the City should be forced to purchase land at Capital View and pointed out that Roseville has not had to do this. Fahey pointed out that the Recreation Association has offered to develop property in the Centerville Road area should the City purchase such property for a recreational complex. Fahey felt that under those circumstances that purchase was probably out of the question as the major cost involved. will be the purchase of the property. Scalze aareed that perhaps Spooner Park should be put on the back burner for the time being, but pointed out that the City only has so much money available for park land acquisition. Final Scalze reported that the Park Commission has recommended that final Payment payment be made to Ideal Paving for construction of the trail system to Ideal from Spooner Park to Gervais Mill park. Paving Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: Agenda Addition RESOLUTION PIO. 87-5-243 - APPROVING AND AUTHORIZI~IG FINAL PAYME~T TO IDEAL PAVING FOR TRAIL CO~ISTRUCTION FROM SPOONER PARK TO GERVAIS MILL PARK The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Collova. Ayes (5) Scalze, Collova, Blesener, LaValle, Fahey. Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 262. Recreation Scalze reported that the Historical Society is working on a bronze Report plaque for Gervail Mill Park. Page -33-
