Blesener pointed out recent newspaper articles regarding 4lilliams <br />Pipeline Pipeline as well as letters received from the City's Quilding Inspector <br /> on the dropping of the l~lilliams pipeline on Demont. <br />Agenda <br />Item No. 12 Blesener suggested that the City send a letter to the P•lational <br /> Safety Transportion Board as well as its State and Federal legislators <br /> regarding the inspection of the pipeline. <br /> Pnayor Fahey reported that he would send this letter on behalf of the <br /> City. <br />Vdater Scalze pointed out the report Kathy Tipler submitted to the Council <br />Quality on the water quality meeting that was recently held in Shoreview. <br /> Scalze felt that this was a subject the Council should stay on top of. <br />Agenda <br />Item No. 14 <br />Park Scalze pointed out the letter the City received regarding Spooner Park. <br />Property <br />& Capital Fahey felt that the City needed to prioritize what land it would acquire. <br />View Fahey felt that before that could happen, the City needed the results <br /> of the soil borings in the Centerville Road area. Fahey commentec!, <br />Agenda however, at this point he felt the acquisition oF Spooner Park rated <br />Item ~!o. 14 after the acquisition of land in the Centerville Road area as well as <br /> Capital View. <br /> Scalze reported that she would bring this issue to the Park and <br /> Recreation Commission. <br />Blesener pointed out that the City has limited resources and has to <br />consider which site best serves the City. <br />Fahey felt that the acquisition of land in the Centerville Road area <br />may only be feasible if the Recreation Association participates in <br />the cost of land acquisition. <br />Blesener felt that if the City purchases land in the Centerville Road <br />area, it does not need land at Capital View. <br />Fahey pointed out that the School Board is still discussing what will <br />happen at Capital View. <br />Scalze reported that she has been contacted by two School Board members <br />who asked if the City knew of anyone interested in renting a portion of <br />the Capital View site and o~hat types of tenants would fit under the <br />zoning. If a portion of the site is rented, it may be feasible to <br />develop a community education satellite at Capital View. Scalze <br />suggested that the Council hold a workshop session with the School <br />Board to discuss the issue. <br />Page -19- <br />
