P~IRIUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />June 17. 1987 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special meeting of the <br />Council of the Citv of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the <br />17th da.y of June, 1987 in the Council Chambers of the Cit.y Center <br />located at 515 Little Canada Road in said Cit.y. <br />Ma.yor Michael Fahey chaired the meeting and called it to order at <br />7:45 P.M. and the followinq members of the Council were present at <br />roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. P4ichael Fahe.y <br />Councilman Mr. tdilliam Blesener <br />Councilman Mr. Rick Collova (arrived 8 P.M.) <br />Councilman Mr. James LaValle <br />Councilwoman Mrs. Beverl.y Scalze <br />ALSO PRESENT: Recordinq Secretarv Mrs. Kathleen 6lanzer <br />Binqo Mavor Fahey read into the record a letter dated June 10, 1987 from <br />Roqer Franke, Executive Secretar.y, of the Charitable Gambling Control <br />Board to Mr. Philip Saari, Executive Director of the North Suburban <br />Developmental Achievement Center, Inc. in response to a letter Mr. <br />Saari wrote to Ma.yor Fahev. Mr. Franke expressed concern in his <br />letter with a statement Mr. Saari made which is "This Board met on <br />Ma.y 26 and verv clearly articulated the authenticit.y of LCCB in the <br />manner it has restructured." P9r. Franke indicated in his letter <br />that this sentence and his understandinq of the meetinq conducted b.y <br />the Charitable Gamblinq Control Board were in serious conflict, and <br />that the Qoard took no action on the authenticity of LCCB. <br />Mr. Blesener reauested that the letter from Mr. Franke be read into <br />the record at the June 24 City Council meeting as well. <br />Mr. Fahev then reviewed a letter submitted by Stan Babel, accountant <br />for Little Canada Binqo, setting up a rotation schedule for the <br />charities involved which would reauire the rotation of each charitv <br />one dav forward each month. This schedule has been agreed to bv <br />Servants of Mary and St. Joseph's Society. <br />Council felt this rotation schedule was acceptable. <br />Mr. LaValle introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-6-264 - APPROVING <br />AND ACCEPTING THE JUNE 17, 1987 <br />LETTER SUBMITTED BY STAN BABEL. ACCOUNTANT <br />FOR LITTLE CANADA BINGO, OUTLIN <br />ROTATION SCHEDULE FOR THE VARIOUS CHARITIES <br />AND REQUIRING THE INDIVIDUAL CNARITIES TO <br />SIGNIFY THEIR ACCEPTA~ICE OF THE ROTATION <br />SCHEDULE BY SIGNING THE LETTER WHICH WILL <br />BE KEPT ON FILE AT THE CITY CENTER <br />Page -1- <br />
