P9INUTES <br />Citv Council <br />June 17, 1987 <br />Binqo The foreqoinq resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener. <br />(Cont.) A.yes (4) LaValle, Blesener, Fahe_y, Scalze. <br />Na.ys (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 17, Paqes 284 and 285. <br />Council discussed the feasibility of requirinq the various charities <br />involved in binqo at 2940 Rice Street to operate similar qames. <br />Stan Babel explained that the charities may wish to operate saecial <br />qames for various events, such as Canadian Days, and asked if the <br />charities would need Council approval to do this. <br />Dick Pillsbury, representinq Servants of Mary, noted that if the <br />charities operate the same qames, thev can use the same supplies. <br />Blesener pointed out that the charities had the option of purchasinq <br />supplies from whomever thev chose. <br />LaValle noted that State Statute regulates the amount of money that <br />can be qiven awav in prizes, and if charities wanted to operate <br />special qames they should be allowed to do so and the Council should <br />not need to be involved. <br />Pillsburv felt that the charities could find some common qround on <br />this issue. <br />Babel stated that he was concerned with problems arising between <br />the charities if one charity wanted to operate one game and another <br />didn't. <br />P1r. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-6-265 - RECONSIDERING <br />THE PREVIOUS COUNCIL RE OLUTION STATING <br />THAT ALL CHARITIES INVOLVED IN BIPIGO AT <br />2940 RICE STREET SNOULD RUN THE SAME GAPIES <br />AND RESTATING THAT EACH CHARITY MAY RUN THEIR <br />O~dN GAMES AS LO~G AS THESE GAMES ARE ~AITHIN <br />STATE STATUTE <br />The foreqoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, LaValle, Collova, Fahey, Scalze. <br />Navs (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appeared in Resolution Book No. 17, Page 286. <br />Paqe -2- <br />
