MINUTES <br />City Council <br />August 12, 1987 <br />Minutes The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener. <br />(Cont.) Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, LaValle, Fahey, Collova. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Qook No. 18, Page 381. <br />Mr. Blesener suggested that in the 4th paragraph on page 3 of the <br />August 4, 1987 Workshop Meeting Minutes the word "set" be changed <br />to "develop" and the phrase "as an example of what we could do" be <br />added to the end of the sentence. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-8-355 - APPROVI~IG THE <br />MINUTES OF THE AUGUST 4, 1987 WORKSHOP <br />MEETING AS CORRECTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Collova. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Collova, Scalze, LaValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (0), <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Qook No. 18, Page 381. <br />Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-8-356 - APPROVING THE <br />MINUTES OF THE AUGUST 5, 1987 WORKSHOP <br />MEETING AS SUBMITTED <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Fahey, LaValle, Collova, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 18, Page 382. <br />Oakmont Mr. Larry Struck, representing the Oakmont Condominium Homeowners <br />Condominium Association, appeared before the Council requesting the City enact <br />& an ordinance similar to that enacted by the City of Minneapolis <br />Locomotive prohibiting the unnecessary sounding of locomotive whistles. <br />Whistle <br />Blesener noted that the Minneapolis ordinance says that whistles <br />Agenda will not be sounded unless there is eminent danger to life or <br />Item No. 6 property. Blesener stated that he could support this ordinance <br />as long as railroad crossings that are not signaled or gated are <br />excluded from the prohibition. <br />Page -2- <br />
