MINUTES
City Council
September 9, 1987
Liquor Council felt that discussion of additional liquor licenses as well
Licenses as proposed ordinance amendments should be scheduled at the next
& Ordinance Council meeting when the City Planner is present.
Revisions
Agenda
Addition
Street Council felt that the assessment for a cul-de-sac lot should be the
Assessment average of the front and back widths of the lot, but not less than
Policy (Cont.) 75 feet, which is the minimum lot size under City Ordinance.
Mr. Collova introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RFSOLUTION N0. 87-9-436 - SETTING A STREET
ASSESSMENT POLICY FOR CUL-DE-SAC LOTS STATING
THAT CUL-DE-SAC LOTS IdILL BE ASSESSED FOR STREET
IMPROVEP1ENT AT THE AVERAGE FOOTAGE OF TH~ FRONT
AND BACK WIDTNS OF THE LOT, BUT NOT LESS THAN
75 FEET
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener.
Ayes (5) Collova, Blesener, Fahey, LaValle, Scalze.
Nays (0).
Resolution declared adopted.
This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 18, Page 461.
The City Attorney suggested that he and the City Engineer get together
and draw up a document setting forth the City's street assessment
policy as outlined by the Council at this meeting.
Carla Lane Fahey reported that the City has received an anonymous letter from
a Carla Lane resident regarding improving of the street as well as
Agenda other matters.
Addition
Council pointed out that street improvement was proposed to the
Carla Lane property owners who were not in favor of it at the
time. Also, the City has been waiting for Maplewood to bring
watermain to the area thinking that Carla Lane may be able to
connect to this watermain sometime in the future.
The City Engineer reported that he would check on the status of
the Maplewood watermain and will report at the next meeting.
It was also noted that the subsoil under Carla Lane is very poor
and thus there are problems with the street. Also, the street was
put in as a private drive, and this is the reason the street is so
narrow.
Page -21-
