MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINPJESOTA <br />September• 30, 1987 <br />Pur•suant to due call and notice ther•eof a wor•kshop meeting of the <br />Council of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the <br />30th day of September•, 1987 in the Council Chamber~s of the City <br />Center• located at 515 ~ittle Canada Road in said City. <br />Playor~ Michael Fahey chair•ed the meeting and called it to or•der• at <br />7:30 P.M, and the following member~s of the Council wer•e pr•esent at <br />roll call: <br /> MEPIBERS PRESENT: Mayor• Mr•. P~ichael Fahey <br /> Councilman Mr. ldilliam Blesener <br /> Councilman Mr. Rick Collova <br /> Councilman Mr~. Jim LaValle <br /> Councilwoman Mr•s. Kathleen Glanzer• <br />~ 9~$ The pur•pose of toni ght' s wor•kshop rneeti ng i s to r•evi ew the pr~oposed <br />Proposed 1988 budget. <br />Budget The fir~st ar~ea of the pr~oposed budget which was r•eviewed ~.aas that of <br /> the Fire Department. The Fire Department's proposed 1988 budget was <br /> totaled at $102,795.00 versus a 1987 budget of $97,120.00. <br /> The Fi r~e Chi ef noted that r•enumer~ati ons wer• e i ncr~eased fr~om $7.00 per~ <br /> drill to $8.00 per drill for 1988. Also, a couple additional firemen <br /> have been added to the depar~tment. <br />Ther•e wer•e no objections to the 1988 Fir•e Depar~tment budget as pr•nposed. <br />The next ar~ea of the budget r•eviewed was that of the Building Inspector's <br />salar•y. <br />The Building Inspector~ submitted to the Council a salar~y sur•vey of <br />building inspector•s in similar•-sized cities. The Building Inspector• <br />noted that his salar~y is based on the job classification of building <br />inspector• and noted that with the additional duties he per•for•ms such <br />as code enfor•cement and fir•e mar~shal, it was his feeling that his job <br />classification should be that of building official. <br />Fahey noted that when the Building Inspector was hived, it was with <br />the under•standing that the position would include code enfor•cement <br />as well as fir~e mar•shal duties. <br />Page -1- <br />
