MINUTES <br />City Council <br />October• 7, 1987 <br />1988 Budget The Playor~ opened the public hear•ing on the pr•oposed 1988 Budget. <br />Hear~i ng <br />Fahey r•epor•ted that the Council pr•eviously r•eviewed the pr•oposed <br />Agenda budget in a Council wor~kshop session. Council will also be r•eleasing <br />Item No. 5 shor•tly a pr•ess r•elease summar•izing the budget. <br />Fahey pointed out that it has been the City's desir~e since the ear•ly <br />1980's to r~educe the City's mill r~ate. The pr•oposed budget for~ 1988 <br />reflects a 4 1/4% decrease over the City's 1987 budget, which will <br />r~esult in a r•eduction of .877 mills. Fahey noted that any incr~ease <br />in proper•ty taxes would be exclusively due to incr~eases in the County <br />and School District budgets. <br />Ther~e was no one pr~esent wishing to comment on the pr•oposed 1988 budget. <br />Mr. Collova intr~oduced the following r~esolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-10-466 - CLOSING THE <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED 1988 BUDGET <br />The for•egoing r•esolution was duly seconded by Mr•s. Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Collova, Scalze, LaValle, Blesener•, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declar•ed adopted. <br />This r~esolution appear•s in Resolution Book No. 18, Page 492. <br />General Council r•eviewed the 1988 General Fund Budget in the amount of <br />Fund $1,059,300. <br />Budget <br />LaValle asked if the Animal Contr~ol por•tion of the Gener~al Fund <br />Budget was adequate to cover• the costs of the new contract the <br />City will be enter•ing into for• animal contr~ol ser~vices. <br />The City Cler•k r•eplied that he was comfor•table with the $6,350 <br />budgeted under• Animal Contr•ol. <br />Mr•. Fahey intr•oduced the following r•esolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 87-10-467 - APPROVING THE <br />GENERAL FUND BUDGET FOR 1988 IN THE AMOUNT <br />OF $1,059,300 <br />The for•egoing r•esolution was duly seconded by Mr~.
