Ganzel.
The City Engineer• r•epor~ted that it is not possible to extend the
el's as the ar•ea is
G
anz
stor•m sewer• pipe as was suggested by the
would be located on the sur•face of the gr~ound
i
pe
ver•y low and the p
s it extended fur~ther~ and it would be necessary to fill around the
•
a
ea.
The Engineer• descr•ibed the elevations of the ar
i
pe.
p
fahey asked if it wer•e possible to cut the pipe off at the edge of
the Ganzel pr~oper•ty.
t lowTto ca9ryedr•ainage
beske
t
W
r
Pl
Y
l
p
o
have
ea would
the a
tha
out
pointed
out of the ar~ea.
Fahey asked the cost of cutting the pipe off at the Ganzel pr•oper~ty.
The Engineer~ did not know at this time, but pointed out that the
wor~k woul d have to be done i n the wi nter• when the gr~ound i s fr•ozen ,
as the ar•ea i s ver•y soft.
Fahey asked the Engineer~ whether he r•ecommended the pipe be left as
i s or• r•emoved.
The Engineer~ stated that if the Ganzel's agr•ee to leave the pipe,
it should be left, however~, the pipe cannot be extended without
a gr•eat deal of expense. If the Ganzel's do not agr•ee to leave the
pipe without extending it, then the pipe should be r~emoved.
Fahey asked if the Ganzel pr•oper•ty would dr~ain better~ if the pipe
were to remain.
The Engineer~ did not think the existence of the pipe made any
differ•ence in the dr~ainage of the Ganzel pr•oper~ty.
The Engineer• also pointed out that in or•der• to build on the Ganzel
pr~oper•ty, it may be necessar~y to excavate and fill the lot. Per~mits
would be needed fr•om the DNR, ldater•shed and Ar•my Cor•ps of Engineer~s
for• this wor~k. The Engineer• thought that the Ganzel's would only
be allowed to fill up to a cer~tain point in their• backyar~d.
Fahey pointed out that as par•t of any fill per•mit, the City would
r•equir~e the Ganzel's to dedicate the necessar~y ointedgoutnahat,this
easements at the back of the pr•oper~ty.
