P~INUTES <br />City Council <br />Dec. 30, 1987 <br />Bingo Lois Dlomberg, representing St. Joseph's Society, appeared before the <br />Donations Council and repor~ted that fr•om their• oper•ation at Gor•dies, St. Joseph's <br />Society has donated $23,000 to the Little Canada Recr•eation Association, <br />Agenda and fr•om their• pull-tab oper~ation at the Venetian Inn, St. Joseph's has <br />Item No. 4 donated $1,000 to the MS Society, $2,500 to Meals On Wheels, $100 in <br />camp fees for the handicapped, $2,500 to the Dor•othy Day Center and <br />$1,000 to the Women's Advocate Childr•en's Pr~ogr~am. At this time Blomber~g <br />pr•esented the City with $20,000 for the Little Canada Par•k Fund fr•om <br />St. Joseph's Society's oper~ation at the Little Canada Bingo Hall. <br />Jan Sher~man, r~epr~esenting Ser•vants of Mar~y, submitted to the Council a <br />par~tial list of donations that Ser~vants of Mar•y has made since July. <br />At this time Sher•man pr~esented the City with a$20,000 donation to the <br />Ci ty' s Par~k Fund fr•om Ser~vants of Mar•y' s oper•ati on at the Li ttl e Canada <br />Bingo Hall as well as a$20,000 donation to the Par~k Fund fr•om Ser•vants <br />of Mar•y's pull-tab oper~ation at Br•ady's. <br />The Council thanked the two char•ities for• their• gener~ous donations to <br />the City's Par~k Fund. <br />Bank Shot The Mayor~ opened the public hear•ing to consider~ the application for• <br />Billiar•ds conditional use per•mit submitted by Bank Shot Billiar•ds, Inc, for• the <br />pur~pose of oper•ating a billiar~d center in a por•tion of the new Rice at <br />Agenda C shopping center• at 2650 Rice Str•eet. <br />Item No. 5 <br />Fahey r~epor~ted that the P1 anner• has submi tted a r•epor~t dated December• <br />3, 1987 r~ecommending appr•oval of the CUP subject to the r•equir•ements <br />as outl i ned i n that r•epor~t. <br />Fahey also r•epor•ted that the Planning Commission has r~ecommended appr•oval <br />of the CUP subject to the Planner~'s r•ecommendations, however~, allowing <br />up to 8 amusement devices on pr•emises and setting the hour~s of oper•ation <br />fr•om 8 A.M. until 2 A.M. <br />Mr•. Michael Schifsky, r~epr•esenting Bank Shot Billiar•ds, appear•ed befor•e <br />the Counci 1 and r•epor•ted that i n dr~awi ng up the fl oor~ pl an for• the <br />site ther•e is r•oom for• 6 amusement devices. Schifsky stated that these <br />devices will not be the pr•imar•y function of the billiar•d center•, but the <br />business does lend itself to these devices. <br />Schifsky also r•epor~ted that since the Planning Commission meeting <br />ther•e has been a change in that the center• would be locating one bay <br />fur~ther to the nor~th in the shopping center~ and would not be dir~ectly <br />adjacent to Food and Fuel. Schifsky pointed out that the billiar~d center~ <br />would have only one entr•ance which would be used exclusively by the <br />billiar•d center•. The center• would take up about 35% of the total shopping <br />center~ site, or~ about 3,720 squar~e feet. <br />Scalze asked who the other tenents in the shopping center~ will be. <br />Page -2- <br />
