MINUTES City Council Jan. 6, 1988 Mor~r~is r•eplied that r~esponses can be br•oken down by r•egion of the City, but not by str•eet. Council suggested that these questions r~emain as stated. Fahey suggested that question 92 be eliminated as it is addr~essed in question 93. Council agr•eed. LaValle questioned the wor•ding of question 95 and the Council decided that the amount of $3 in that question should be changed to $2 to $4. Fahey suggested that questions 98 and 99 be eliminated, and after• discussion Council agr•eed. Council also eliminated question 108. Fahey suggested that a question r•egar•ding smoke detector•s be included i n the sur~vey, and Mor~r~i s poi nted out that smoke detector~s ar~e r•equi r•ed i n apar~tment and new constr•ucti on. Traxler suqgested that this topic not be addressed as her experience in past sur~veys has indicated that while people ar~e usually coo~er~ative ther•e ar~e some minor• ar•eas that do not get good r~esponses. Council agr•eed not to include a question on smoke detector•s. Collova asked if the survey addressed recreational activities for younger~ childr~en. Tr~axler• pointed out that questions 7_4 and 25 dealt with youth recreation. Decision Resour•ces indicated that it will pr•epar•e a new dr•aft of the survey questions for additional review. At that point Council set another~ wor~kshop meeting for• 1~lednesday, Febr~uar~y 10, at 6:30 P.M. to di scuss the r~evi sed sur•vey. Fahey suggested that the r~evised sur~vey be sent to member•s of both the Park and Planning Commissions for their review and input prior to that meeting. The Commission member~s should also be invited to attend the wor•kshop if they so desir•e. Ther•e being no fur~ther• business, the meeting was adjour•ned at 10:15 P.M.
