Blesener• noted that SEW is still under~
r•etai ner~ wi th the Ci ty. Bl esener• al so fel t that by r•evi si ng the
plan to include the improvements discussed, it would be feasible
to get a better• idea of the cost of the addition.
Qlesener suggested that the City Clerk schedule a meeting with SEH
to r•eview the City Center~ expansion plan.
Scalze suggested that a wor•kshop meeting be scheduled to discuss the
var•ious issues befor~e the Council such as City Center~ expansion,
pur~chase of Center•ville Road pr•oper•ty as well as Spooner• Par~k and
the addition to Little Canada Elementar•y School
Blesener~ and Collova felt that it was too ear•ly to schedule such a
wor•kshop at this time until the Council has mor•e infor•mation on the
cost of the City Center• expansion, plus mor•e input from the School
Distr•ict.
Collova indicated that the School Distr~ict has indicated that they
will be submitting a pur•chase agr~eement to the City for~ the pur~chase
of Spooner Park.
Scalze suggested that it might be appr~opr•iate for~ the City Attor•ney
to become involved in this matter•. Scalze pointed out the Lauder•dale
situation. Scalze asked if ther•e wer•e any assessments on the Spooner~
Par~k property.
The City Cler•k repor~ted that ther•e ar•e two defer•r~ed assessments on
the Spooner~ Par•k pr~oper~ty for~ sewer• main. The assessments ar~e for~
approximately $1,500 plus interest.
Scalze pointed out that the City has deter•mined it would like to
pur•chase 21.7 acr•es. Scalze suggested that the City Attor•ney make
an offer~ to the School Di str•i ct for• thi s pr•oper~ty based on the Ci ty' s
appr~ai sal of the proper•ty.
Collova noted that the School Distr•ict has indicated that they would
pr•epar~e a pur•chase agr•eement. However•, fel t that the Ci ty Attor~ney
could check on the status of such an agr~eement.
Page -13-
