MINUTES
City Council
Feb. 24, 1988
1988 Water
Budget (Cont
could only r•each the middle of the tier~ str~uctur~e.
Blesener~ suggested that for~ the first 6 months Little Canada r•etain
the $1.50 per thousand gallon rate. If a new contract is signed with
St. Paul lower~ing the City's water~ costs, the City could then lower•
the r•ate to its user•s. alesener• also thought it may be possible to
lower the water• r•ate to $1.30 per~ thousand gallons by estimating a
5 to 6% water• loss r~ather• than the 12% loss estimated by the Public
Wor~ks Super~intendent.
Fahey agreed that the City Council can consider a water rate reduction
later• in the year• once a new contr•act is signed with St. Paul.
Mr•s. Scalze intr~oduced the following r~esolution and moved its adoption:
RFSOLUTION N0. 88-2-68 - APPROVING THE 198II
WATER BUDGET AS SUBD9ITTED AND RETAIMING THE
SAME biATER RATES IN 1988 AS EXISTED I~1 1987,
THAT IS, $11.50 PER QUARTER SERVICE CHFlRGE
PER SAC AND A WATER RATE OF $1.50 PER 1,000
GALLONS
The for~egoing r~esolution was duly seconded by Mr~. However~, the Attor~ney was confident that the Water~
Department will honor~ their• offer~ to char•ge Little Canada at the
Roseville rate.
Center•ville Fahey r•epor~ted that he and Mr•. Collova have met with Dave Fr•attalone
Road Ar~ea and Fr~ank Fr•attalone r~egar•ding the City's inter•est in pur•chasing the
Dave Fr~attalone pr~oper~ty on Center•ville Road for• par~k purposes.
Agenda Mr•. Fr•attalone has appr•oximately 8 acr~es of pr~oper~ty as well as var•ious
Addition buildings. Fahey r•epor~ted that an agr~eement was r•eached ver•bally for~
the City to ~ur~chase the pr•oper•ty at a price of $24,200 per~ acr~e plus
$51,492 for• the appr~aised value of his buildings and $10,000 for~ the
demolition and r•emoval of these buildings.
