P1I NUTES <br />City Council <br />April 13, 1988 <br />Bingo Scalze stated that she felt ther~e has been a 1000% tur•n-ar~ound in <br />Renewals the oper•ation of the hall since last year~ and pointed out that the <br />(Cont.) Little Canada Bingo Hall is now being used as an example of how to <br />run a bingo hall. <br />Bl omber•g fel t that i t was for~tunate that ther~e ar~e the 5 char~i ti es <br />oper•ating at the hall that ar•e. <br />Scalze felt it for~tunate that the char~ities have local people involved <br />and that the char~ities are gener•ous to local causes. <br />Blesener• pointed out that both Ser•vants of Mar~y and St. Joseph's <br />Society ar•e oper~ating tvao days at the Hal l, and asked i f ei ther~ <br />charities would be receptive to another organization joining in the <br />oper~ation. <br />B1 omber~g and Houl e fel t that thei r~ char~i ti es wer•e comfor•tabl e wi th <br />oper•ating two days each week. <br />Scalze suggested that the financial statement as pr~epar•ed by Ser~vants <br />of Mar~y and St. Joseph's Society wer•e excellent and that the other• <br />char~ities at the bingo hall use the same for~mat when submitting their• <br />financial statements. <br />Blesener• suggested that the City send a letter~ to the var~ious char~ities <br />at the bingo hall and to the accountant for• the char•ities and r•equest <br />that this for~mat be used. <br />Scalze asked if ther•e was local employment at the bingo hall. <br />Blomberg replied that there was. <br />Mr•. LaValle intr~oduced the followinq r~esolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 88-4-129 - APPROVING THE <br />APPLICATION FOR GAMBLI~IG LICENSE RENEWAL <br />SUQP1ITTED BY ST. JOSEPH'S SOCIETY FOR <br />CHARITY TO OPERATE A BINGO GAME TbJO NIGHTS <br />PER IJEEK AT THE LITTLE CANADA BI~IGO NALL <br />The for•egoing r~esolution was duly seconded by Mr~s. Scalze. <br />Ayes (4) LaValle, Scalze, Collova, Blesener. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declar•ed adopted. <br />This r~esolution appear•s in Resolution Book No. 19, Page 132. <br />P9r.
