Blesener felt the City <br />Attor•ney should infor•m the ldater~ Depar~tment of this decision and also <br />r•equest a stipulation that if a lower~r•ate is negotiated with another• <br />city, Little Canada would r•eceive this lower• r•ate. Blesener also <br />suggested that the Attor•ney r~equest that the Water• Depar~tment honov~ <br />its offer• for• a r~ebate on water• char~ges back through 1986 as was <br />pr~eviously made. <br />Blesener• suggested that the City of Maplewood be copied with this letter•. <br />Blesener r•epor•ted that the P1aplewood City Manager~ has been contacted on <br />this matter, and has indicated that Maplewood has not moved forward with <br />negotiations of its water~ r•ate. <br />Mr~. Fahey intr~oduced the following r~esolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION ~0. 88-4-169 - INSTRUCTING TNE CITY <br />ATTORNEY TO CONTACT THE ST. PAUL bIATER DEPARTMENT <br />AND IPIFORD1 THEM OF THE CITY'S INTEREST IN ENTERING <br />I~dTO A WATER CONTRACT THAT bIAS OFFERED BY THE <br />IJATER DEPARTPIENT WITH THE STIPULATION THAT IF <br />A LOWER RATE IS NEGOTIATED WITN ANOTHER CITY, <br />LITTLE CANADA !~IOULD RECEIVE THAT SAME RI~TF, AND <br />WITH THE UNDERSTANDI~IG THAT THE WATFR DEPARTMEPIT <br />WOULD HONOR THE P.E3ATE PREVIOUSLY OFFERED BACK <br />THROUGH 1986 <br />The foregoing r•esolution was duly seconded by P1r•. LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, LaValle, alesener, Scalze, Collova. <br />PJays (0). <br />Resolution declar•ed adopted. <br />This r•esolution appear•s in Resolution Book Mo. 19, Page 173. <br />Recycling Blesener• r•ecommended appr•oval of the 6-month extension of the City's <br />Contr•act cur•r•ent recycling contr~act. Blesener• pointed out that the cost of the <br />contr~act is picked up by the County. <br />Agenda <br />Addition Mr~.
