MINUTES <br />City Council <br />May 11, 1988 <br />Centerville <br />Road Ar~ea <br />(Cont.) <br />Fahey stated that he was opposed to such a condition because it is <br />a per•manent situation. <br />Scalze pointed out that the City would be in tr~ouble with its citizens <br />if the proper~ty was not developed for• par•k pur•poses since ther•e ar•e <br />local gr~oups donating money for~ this par•k. <br />Butler• agr•eed that the reversion stipulation should be r•emoved. <br />Mr•s. Scalze intr•oduced the following r~esolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 88-5-180 - AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />ATTORNEY TO PREPARE A PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR 8 <br />ACRES OF PROPERTY OWNED BY G. N. BUTLER COMPANY <br />AT A PURCHASE PRICE OF $24,200 PER ACRE WITH A <br />CASH PAYMENT TO BE MADE IN 1988, INCLUDING TERMS <br />CONSISTENT WITH OTHER OFFERS FOR PROPERTY MADE BY <br />THE CITY IN THIS AREA, AND FURTHER INSTRUCTING THE <br />CITY ATTORNEY TO PREPARE A 12-MONTH OPTION OR <br />PURCNASE A6REEMENT FOR AN ADDITIONAL 4 ACRES OF <br />PROPERTY FROM G. N. BUTLER CORPORATION, THE OPTION <br />OR PURCNASE AGREEMENT TO BE DETERMINED BY THE <br />CITY ATTORNEY, AT A PURCHASE PRICE OF $24,200 PER <br />ACRF WITH PURCHASE TO BE FINALIZED DURING 1989 OR <br />SOONER <br />The for•egoing r•esolution was duly seconded by Mr~. Blesener•. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener•, Fahey, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declar•ed adopted. <br />This resolution appear~s in Resolution Book No. 19, Page 183. <br />Dlesener~ indicated that the Par•k Commission and Recreation Association <br />should wor~k on the pr~oposed development plans for the par•k and suggested <br />that consideration be given to the r~esults of the City's r•esidential <br />sur•vey. <br />Scalze agreed and suggested that some joint sessions be conducted <br />between the two gr•oups. <br />Butler~ suggested that a pur•chase agreement might be better• for• the <br />4 acr~es r•ather• than an option agr•eement. <br />Council advised the City Attor•ney to consider• a pur•chase agr•eement <br />ver•sus option agr•eement and pr•epar•e whichever• is pr•efer•able for• the <br />4 acr•es. <br />Page -7- <br />
