MINUTES <br />City Council <br />June 22, 1988 <br />Carla Olson stated that the amounts quoted by the City Engineer• did not <br />Lane seem unr~easonable, but indicated that he would pr•efer• str•eet <br />Impr~ovement impr•ovement only since he has a new well, but would go along with <br />Petition whatever~ his neighbor~s wanted. <br />(Cont.) <br />Blesener~ stated that the City Council is awar~e that Carla Lane is <br />pr~obably the wor•st r•oad in the City, however•, pointed out that two <br />year•s ago the pr•operty owner~s on Carl a Lane tur~ned down a r~oad <br />impr•ovement. <br />Fahey repor~ted that the Cit,y acts on impr~ovement petitions, but does <br />not for~ce impr•ovements on any neighbor~hoods. <br />Betty Radcl i ff, 806 Car•1 a Lane, r•epor•ted that ther~e ar~e tr~ees and <br />shrubs hanging over~ the str•eet that ar~e inter•fer•ing with traffic <br />visibility. <br />Fahey suggested that the Public Wor•ks Super•intendent look at this <br />situation and take appr~opr•iate action. <br />Peggy Schweizer~, 740 Car•la Lane, r~epor~ted that ther•e is only one <br />street light on Car•la Lane. <br />Fahey suggested that this matter~ be refer~r•ed to Public Wor~ks as well. <br />Mr~. Blesener~ intr~oduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 88-6-253 - ORDERING THE CITY <br />ENGINEER TO PREPARE A FEASIBILITY REPORT FOR <br />IMPROVEMENT OF CARLA LANE BY WATERMAIN, STREET <br />IMPROVEMENT TO A REASONABLE LEVEL IJITH <br />POSSIBILITY OF CURB AND GUTTER, AND A TIME <br />FRAME AS TO WHEN MAPLEWOOD WOULD EXTEND <br />WATERMAIN INTO THE AREA, AND IF THIS EXTENSION <br />ulOULD NOT TAKE PLACE IN THE FORESEEA6LE FUTURE, <br />THE ADDITIONAL COST FOR LITTLE CANADA TO <br />EXTEND WATERMAIN AS A CITY PROJECT, AND ALSO <br />THE COSTS FOR INSTALLATION OF A DRY WATERMAIN <br />SYSTEM FOR EVENTUAL HOOK-UP TO MAPLEl~l00D WATER <br />The for•egoing r•esolution was duly seconded by Mrs. Scalze. <br />Ayes (4) Blesener, Scalze, Collova, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declar~ed adopted. <br />This resolution appear•s in Resolution Book No. 19, Page 258. <br />Council then discussed the var•ious Code violations on Car~la Lane, <br />with Scalze pointing out that cur•r•ent policy is to enfor•ce these <br />violations on a complaint basis.
