MINUTES <br />City Council <br />July 13, 1988 <br />Ditch ditch and r•ecommends appr•oval provided that the Water•shed approves the <br />Piping plans as well. <br />(Cont.) <br />Val ento r~epor•ted that the proper•ty owner•s ar•e i n agreement wi th the <br />piping and have not sodded their• backyar•ds in anticipation that the <br />ditch will be piped. <br />Blesener asked if ther~e would be any pr•oblems with piping the ditch. <br />The City Engineer• could for•esee no pr~oblems, pointing out that there may <br />be pr•oblems if the ditch on the other~ side of the Sophie/Peter~son Addition <br />wer~e piped. The Engineer• r~epor~ted that he wants to r•eview that pr•oposal <br />fur•ther• befor~e making a r~ecommendation. However•, ther~e are no pr•oblems <br />involved in piping the ditch between Valento Lane and Thunder• Bay Road. <br />Mr. Fahey intr•oduced the following r~esolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 88-7-271 - APPROVING THE <br />REQUEST OF DON VALENTO TO PIPE THE DITCH LOCATED <br />BETWEEN VALENTO LANE AND THUNDER BAY ROAD, AT THE <br />BENEFITED PROPERTY OWNERS' EXPENSE, CONTINGENT <br />UPON THE APPROVAL OF THE CITY ENGINEER AND WATERSHED <br />DISTRICT <br />The for~egoing r•esolution was duly seconded by Mr•s. Scalze. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Scalze, Collova, Blesener~, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This r•esolution appear~s in Resolution Book No. 20, Page 276. <br />R& S Mr~. Bob DeBace appear•ed befor~e the Council r•epr~esenting R& S Automotive <br />Automotive in their• pr~oposal to put an additiononto the Meyer's Enterprises Building <br />Addition as well as the R& S Automotive Building. DeBace pr~esented a site plan <br />to the Council showing the building additions pr•oposed as well as a <br />Agenda division of the pr•operty. <br />Item No. 8 <br />Fahey noted that with the plan pr•esented to the Council this evening, the <br />Council could only give concept appr~oval at this point. The Council will <br />need a sur•vey showing lot lines so it can deter•mine if setbacks can be met, <br />if variances are r~equired, etc. The Council wi11 a1so need the City Planner <br />to r~eview the pr•oposal and make a r~eport to the Council. <br />DeBace anticipated that setbacks could be met to within a few inches. <br />The Council noted that it needs a sur~vey so that exact locations of lot <br />lines can be deter•mined as well as setbacks. <br />The City Planner~ r•eviewed a r•epor•t he submitted to the Council on this <br />pr~oposal which states that some building expansion and lot splittina could <br />be allowed if the auto salvage portion of the business were elimina.tad. <br />Page -8- <br />
