MINUTES <br />City Council <br />September 14, 1988 <br />Thunder• Scalze repor•ted that the Thunder Bay tr•ails between Greenbrier and Payne <br />Bay Trail Avenue have been completed. The City budgeted $37,000 for this wor•k, and <br />Change-Order actual cost was $22,984. The Park Commission, therefore, has requested <br />that some additional grading, seeding and top soil be added as a change- <br />Agenda order•, and the Park Consultant has submited a recommendation to this <br />Item No. 15a effect. Estimated cost of the change-order is $6,000. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 88-9-394 - APPROVIN6 A CNANGE-ORDER <br />TO THE THUNDER BAY TRAIL IMPROVEMENT, COST OF WHICH <br />IS ESTIMATED AT $6,000, FOR ADDITIONAL GRADING, <br />SEEDING AND TOP SOIL ALONG GREENBRIER AND ON BOTH <br />SIDES OF THUNDER QAY ROAD AS OUTLINED BY THE CITY'S <br />PARK CONSULTANT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Fahey, LaValle, Collova. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book No. 20, Page 408. <br />Other Scalze reviewed a letter dated September• 13, 1988 from the City's Park <br />Par~k Consultant suggesting additional concr•ete work be done in Spooner~ Park <br />Impr•ovements around the picnic shelters and that additional landscape plantings be <br />installed in Gervais Mill Park, Spooner Park and Aspen Circle. Estimated <br />Agenda cost of the concrete work is $1,500 and estimated cost of the landscaping <br />Addition is $8,500. <br />Mrs. Scalze introduced the following r•esolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 88-9-395 - AUTHORIZING THE PARK <br />CONSULTANT TO OBTAIN INFORMAL BIDS FOR CONCRETE <br />WORK AROUND THE SPOONER PARK PICNIC SHELTERS <br />AND FOR LANDSCAPING WORK FOR GERVAIS MILL PARK, <br />SPOONER PARK AND ASPEN CIRCLE, AND AUTHORIZING <br />THE PARK CONSULTANT TO AWARD THE LOW BID FOR THESE <br />IMPROVEMENTS <br />The for•egoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Blesener. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Blesener, Collova, LaValle, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This r~esolution appears in Resolution Book No. 20, page 409. <br />Kellogg Scalze submitted a site plan for the improvement of the Kellogg hockey <br />Hockey Rink rink area which involved elimination of one of the existing hockey r•inks, <br />constr•uction of a new hockey rink, pleasure skating area, par•king area> <br />Agenda war~ming house and lighting of the facility. <br />Item No. 15b <br />Page -11- <br />
