There is a br•ochur~e available at the City Center~
(Cont.) which provides infor~mation on these amendments which is availab1e to
the general public.
Blesener~ reminded the general public that the second half of taxes ar•e
due the middle of October.
Proposed The Mayor opened the Public Hearing on the pr~oposed r~ezonings of certain
Rezonings pr•operties on Rice Street, So. Owasso Blvd., Countr~y Dr•ive and Spruce
Of Certain Street. The Mayor reported that the Planning Commission has recommended
Pr•operties that these rezonings be tabled so that they can study the issues further.
On Rice Str., Under Ordinance, the Council cannot act on any item tabled by the Planning
So. Owasso Commission for a period of 60 days or until the Planning Commission
Blvd., recommendation is received, whichever is sooner.
Country Dr.,
Spr•uce Str. Fahey suggested that additional comments other than those taken at the
Planning Commission be heard this evening, and then the Council should
Agenda table the matter pending the Commission's recommendation.
Item No. 5
Fahey suggested that the Council discuss the issue of the limitation of
building size to 35% of lot cover•age which was brought up at the Planning
Commission meeting. Fahey felt this limitation should be removed.
Fahey also pointed out that at the Planning Commission meeting Harry Kath
objected to the proposed rezoning of his property from I-1 to B-2. Kath
believed his property should be rezoned to B-3 which is similar• to the
rezonings proposed for other Rice Str•eet proper•ties.
Fahey also repor•ted that Bob DeBace objected to the rezoning of his property
from I-1 to IP District.
Fahey reported that the matter is scheduled for the October 13th Planning
Commission and will come back to the Council on October 26th.
Fahey r~eported that he would like to str•ike the 35% building limitation fr•om
the Zoning Code for IP District. Fahey pointed out that the City is proposing
the rezoning to encour~age high-quality development, and did not feel the
building size should be limited.
DeBace asked if the Council was going to continue the public hearing until
October 26th, or if the hearing would be closed this evening.
Fahey r•eplied that the hearing would be tabled until the October 26th meeting,
and the public would have opportunity for additional input at both the
Planning Commission meeting and the October 26th Council meeting.
Blesener suggested that if there were additional comments the public would
like to make, they should be made now so that the Planning Commission will
have the benefit of these comments at their October 13th meeting.
Page -2-
