MINUTES <br />City Council <br />October 26, 1988 <br />Austr•alian Mr. Bob DeBace appeared befor•e the Council and suggested the possibility <br />Avenue of neighbors putting in a galvinized pipe r•ather than the concr•ete pipe <br />Drainage suggested by the City Engineer•. DeBace r~epor•ted that he has discussed <br />Improvement this suggestion with Public L~orks, who is willing to donate the pipe to <br />(Cont.1 the project. DeQace reported that Mr•s. Peterson has indicated to him <br />her~ willingness to pay for• the labor of neighbor•s digging the trench <br />and installing the pipe. <br />The Council discussed this idea, and felt that if the impr•ovement were <br />going to be made, it should be done corr•ectly. The Council discussed <br />the idea of using contingency funds to pay for the improvement provided <br />that the pr~operty owner•s involved would be willing to dedicate easements <br />to the City at no charge. <br />The Council also discussed the fact that the City has never assessed <br />a storm sewer• impr•ovement that involved public property. The Council <br />pointed out that the run-off causing this pr•oblem is coming fr•om <br />Australian. <br />Mr•. Fahey introduced the following r•esolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 88-10-467 - INSTRUCTING THE <br />CITY ATTOR~IEY TO OBTAI~I EASEMENTS FOR THE <br />AUSTRALIAN AVENUE DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENT AT <br />NO COST TO TNE CITY AND AUTHORIZING TNE <br />PROJECT TO PROCEED WITH THE COST OF THE <br />PROJECT TO BE PAID FROM GENERAL CAPITAL <br />IMPROVEMENT FUNDS <br />The for•egoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr. Collova. <br />Ayes (5) Fahey, Collova, Blesener•, LaValle, Scalze. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This resolution appears in Resolution Book ~lo. 20, page 482. <br />LeClair•e The City Engineer• r•ecommended that final payment be made for the LeClair•e <br />Hall Lift Nall 1ift chair, which has now been completed. These payments should <br />Chair be made as follows: <br />Agenda Advent Constr•uction $5,125.00 <br />Item No. 7b Minnesota Home Elevator $17,475.00 <br />The Council discussed the fact that the lift chair• will need to be <br />inspected by the State, and that payment should not be made until <br />that inspection has been completed. <br />Mr~s.
