Blesener intr•oduced the following r•esolution and moved its adoption: <br />Agenda RESOLUTION N0. 89-1-17 - AUTNORIZING THE PUDLIC <br />Item No. 14 WORKS SUPERINTENDENT TO HAVE AEC ENGINEERING <br />DESIGN PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE REPAIR <br />OF THE CITY'S I~ATER TOWER <br />The foregoing r•esolution was duly seconded by Mr. LaValle. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener•, LaValle, Collova, Scalze, Fahey. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This r•esolution appear•s in Resolution Book No. 21, page 17. <br />Rodding Blesener~ r•epor~ted that the City's rodding machine is in need of <br />Machine replacement. It is a 1968 model and par•ts can no longer be found <br />for• i t. <br />Agenda <br />Addition Blesener• repor•ted that Public Wor~ks has obtained two quotations <br />for a replacement. The first is fr•om Flexible Pipe Tool Company <br />for• their• demonstrator• model at $14,800. The other• is from Sewer• <br />Rodding for a new machine for $18,996. Both quotations include the <br />trade-in of the City's current rrodding ~achine. <br />Mr•. Fahey introduced the following resolution and move 9ts adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 89-1-18 - AUTHORIZING THE <br />PURCHASE OF A RODDING MACHTNE, DEPIONSTRATOR <br />MODEL, FR0~1 FLEXIL~LE TOOL COMPANY IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $14,800 <br />The for•egoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr~. Fahey. <br />Ayes (5) Blesener, Fahey, Scalze, Collova, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declared adopted. <br />This r•esolution appears in Resolution Book No. 21, page 18. <br />Sander•s & Scalze r•eported that Bill Sander•s has been doing landscape ar~chitect <br />Associates work for• the City infor•mally at a cost of ~15.00 per~ hour. Scalze <br />r•epor~ted that the City has made many demands on his time and pointed <br />Agenda out that hi s normal rate i s$45 per• hour. Sca1 ze r~epor•ted that D1r•. <br />Item No. 16 Sander•s is not requesting that the City enter~ into a contr•act with <br />him, however~, Scalze is making this request in order to treat Mr~. <br />Sanders mor•e fair•ly. Scalze pointed out that Sanders is well respected <br />in his field and has done good work for• the City. Sander~s also <br />volunteer~s his time to the City while serving on the Park Commission. <br />Scalze pointed out that the agreement before the Council establishes <br />a r•ate of $25 per hour, which is a large reduction over Sanders' norr~al <br />rate. <br />Page -15- <br />
