MINUTES <br />City Council <br />Jan. 25, 1989 <br />Centerville <br />Road Area <br />Park (Cont.) <br />Sca.lse also r•eported that it will be necessary to have an architect <br />put together the final plans for the r~ecreation building. <br />Sander•s repor•ted that it is a requirement of the law that drawings for• <br />buildinqs be prepared by a r•egister•ed architect. <br />Sander•s repor•ted that the committee would put together a specific <br />design for the building and then the architect would draw the final <br />plans. <br />Fahey suggested that the architect not be hired until the committee has <br />met and decided on a specific design. <br />Mr~s. Scalze intr•oduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION N0. 89-1-38 - AUTNORIZING BILL <br />SA~IDERS TO HIRE AN ARCHITECT FOR THE DRAFTING <br />OF PLANS FOR THE CENTERVILLE ROAD PARK RECREATION <br />BUILDING AFTER THE BUILDING COP4MITTEE HAS MET <br />AND DECIDED ON A PLAN <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Mr•. Collova. <br />Ayes (5) Scalze, Collova, Blesener, Fahey, LaValle. <br />Nays (0). <br />Resolution declar~ed adopted. <br />This r~esolution appear•s in R2solution Book No. 21, Page 40. <br />Scalze repor•ted that the City Clerk has reviewed the City's park <br />development funds and determined that less land purchase commitments <br />and including the money to be donated by the Recreation Association, <br />the City has about $220,000 availablefor•development of Centerville Road <br />Park. <br />Fahey pointed out that the City r~eceived another $30,000 donation fr~om <br />the charities this evening. <br />Fahey also pointed out that the Par•k Commission has put together the <br />list of development priorities, and is leaving the matter of obtaining <br />financing for~ these improvements in the hands of the Council. Fahey <br />pointed out that the City has enough money to go for~war•d with the <br />gr•ading of the Center~ville Road Par•k at this time. <br />Scalze pointed out that it will take about $380,000 in impr•ovements <br />befor•e the park is r•eady to have a building constructed on it. <br />Par•k Master Scalze r•epor~ted that the Park Commission has recommended that Bill <br />Plan Sanders be authorized to wor•k on the completion of the City's Park <br />Master Plan. <br />Agenda <br />Item No. 18c Paqe -17- <br />
