MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />February 8, 1989 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting <br />of the Council of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was <br />held on the 8th day of February 1989 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada <br />Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael Fahey chaired the meeting and called it to <br />order at 6:30 P.M. and the following members of the Council <br />were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Michael Fahey <br />Councilman Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Councilman Mr. Rick Collova <br />Councilman Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Councilwoman Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Clerk Mr. Joseph Chlebeck <br />City Auditor Mr. Robert Voto <br />City Attorney Mr. Tom Sweeney <br />Recording Secretary Ms. Deirdre Catterton <br />Solid Waste Advisory <br />Kathy Tipler <br />Ted Bergstrom <br />Roger Glanzer <br />Virginia Fisher <br />Frank Graczyk <br />Harry Kath <br />Jean Smith <br />Committee Members: <br />Hearing Mayor Michael Fahey presented to the Council the purpose <br />of of the Hearing on Organized Collection. He noted the <br />Organized reports received from the Haulers. He summarized the <br />Collection Committee's recommendations which were: <br /> 1) that they go organized contracting with one contractor <br /> and <br /> 2) that they were prepared to go with a consortium of <br /> haulers if that could be a legal alternative. <br /> The Haulers were previously directed that a consortium <br /> alternative would be looked at by the Council if they <br /> provided a proposal to the Committee. He stated that his <br /> feeling as Mayor was that the City should go to organized <br /> collection with one hauler, endorsing and adopting the <br /> Committee's recommendation. He informed the Haulers that <br /> tonight their duty was to try to persuade the Committee and <br />Page 1 <br />
